The State Duma has developed the idea of a self-ban on alcohol
Amir Khamitov, a State Duma deputy from the New People party, proposed introducing a self-locking system for the purchase of alcoholic beverages in Russia. This is reported by Gazeta.ru .
According to the parliamentarian, such a mechanism would resemble the already existing practice of self-locking out bank loans. Anyone can voluntarily limit their access to alcohol purchases in order to avoid unnecessary temptations and take a step towards a healthier lifestyle.
"A healthy lifestyle is one of the main national goals, the importance of which has been repeatedly mentioned by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin," Khamitov said.
As an alternative to buying alcohol, the deputy suggested using funds to attend a gym or exercise classes. In his opinion, this will bring double benefits.: it will strengthen your health and help you give up bad habits.
The initiative is still being worked out and discussed.
