Russia wants to introduce a new road sign
In Russia, a new road sign "Beginning of a new lane" may appear indicating the further direction of travel. The expediency of introducing this sign will be studied by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, Izvestia reports.
According to the newspaper, with the introduction of the new sign, it will be possible to combine the signs 5.15.1 (Direction of movement along the lanes) and 5.15.8 (Number of lanes) into one. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation says that the Ministry, together with federal executive authorities, is ready to work out proposals on the expediency of introducing a new sign "as part of the approval procedure for preparing the next changes to traffic regulations."
It should be noted that the timing of the appearance of the new sign on the roads and in the traffic regulations is not specified.
Recall that at the end of February this year, a new GOST was published, which introduces new road signs and rules for their use, as well as updates the design of a number of road signs.
