Today, Kirov officials told us what needs to be done by Victory Day. First, special signs will be installed on the houses where the veterans live. It is planned to obtain installation permits by April 15, manufacture the plates by April 20, and complete their installation by May 5.
In addition, 18 participants of the Great Patriotic War are supposed to be awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen". They promise to do this by May 1.
The veterans' health was also taken care of. The government has appointed people responsible for providing medical care to WWII participants. According to them, today all veterans are provided with necessary medicines and undergo regular examinations.
In addition, Governor Alexander Sokolov instructed the veterans to find out what problems they have and do whatever they ask. He added that we need to be grateful to these people and help them in every possible way.
It is also planned to put 413 memorial sites in order in the region. Among them is the Eternal Flame in Kirov. Large-scale cleaning of public areas will be carried out, in particular, during clean-up days on April 5, 19 and 26. So, it is planned to tidy up Victory Park, Konev Square and much more. Local cemeteries will also be cleaned.
As for the festive events, the main ones will traditionally be held on the Theater Square. The main one is a solemn parade. In total, it is planned to make six thousand tickets. There will be three entrances to the square, two from Karl Liebknecht and one from the drama theater. Buses will be available for veterans. In addition to the events at the Theater, the authorities want to organize an exhibition of equipment, in particular motorcycles, hold a concert at the Philharmonic and much more.
