A resident of the Kirov region killed pigs during quarantine for the African plague

On April 2, 2025, the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Kirov region brought a resident of the Pyzhansky district to administrative responsibility for violating quarantine measures for African swine fever. He was fined 1,000 rubles under Part 2 of Article 10.6 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

As it turned out during an inspection conducted on March 24, 2025 in cooperation with the prosecutor's office of the Kirov region, on February 2, 2025, a man slaughtered a pig for meat for personal needs. This happened during the quarantine period established by the decree of the Governor of the Kirov region, which limited any actions related to the slaughter of pigs in the observation area, which included the village of Voya.

In violation of legal requirements, pig slaughter was prohibited during the quarantine period, with the exception of specialized enterprises. This fact violates the rules aimed at preventing the spread of African swine fever, and the man also violated current veterinary legislation.
