
A strategic session on the concept of implementing an interuniversity campus in Kirov has been completed at Vyatka State University
On April 2, Vyatka State University hosted the strategic session "Concept for the implementation of an interuniversity campus in the city of Kirov", held with the participation of federal experts.
During the three-day work, the main problem areas and challenges of socio-economic, scientific and technological development of the Kirov region were discussed, the content of key areas of scientific and educational activities in the interuniversity campus was clarified, and its architectural and planning concept was agreed upon.
The work of the project teams, which included representatives of Kirov universities, the business community, and government authorities, resulted in passports of programs in the areas of specialization of the campus. At the final event, they were presented to Alexander Sokolov, Governor of the Kirov Region, and experts from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. It should be noted that four of the six project groups are headed by representatives of the largest university in the region. Sergey Litvinets, Vice Rector for Science and Innovation at Vyatka State University, presented the results of the work of the Industrial Biotechnologies team. Humanitarian and urban planning technologies were reflected in the report of Konstantin Bazhin, Vice Rector for Strategic Development and Project Activities.
The directions and product programs of the specialization "Chemical Industry and Electrochemical Energy" were revealed in a speech by Denis Kozulin, Director of the Vyatka State University Institute of Chemistry and Ecology. Olga Rubleva, Director of the Polytechnic Institute of Vyatka State University, introduced the audience to the achievements of the team specializing in Machine Tool Engineering, the title area of the Kirov campus.
The campus management model was presented by Dmitry Kurdyumov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kirov Region. Mikhail Skokov, the Minister of Construction of the region, spoke about the architecture and design of the interuniversity campus facilities.
Responding vividly and with interest to all the speeches, Alexander Sokolov emphasized: it is important to remember that the interuniversity campus in Kirov is designed to become not a regional, but a Russian platform that meets the needs of the whole country.
"I am very happy with the result we have reached. Yes, there are more questions. It's good. There should always be movement. And we are moving forward," the head of the region summed up.
Natalia Gvozdeva, Director of the Department of National Project Support and Project Management at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, shared her opinion on what she heard.The value of the three-day work of the Kirov team was noted by Taisya Pogodaeva, an expert on the transformation of scientific and educational organizations, a member of the Expert Council of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on science and education, head and participant of the working groups on campuses. She expressed confidence:
"You have every chance to really use the campus project as a transformational project."
Taisya Pogodaeva also addressed the rector of Vyatka State University, Valentin Pugach.:
"Valentin Nikolaevich, I would like to thank you as a person who shows by his example that it is necessary to move, it is possible to move, and most importantly, it is inevitable. And the movement will continue."
