Last year, the ice on Vyatka broke on April 5, and this year — a week earlier. The icebreaker also started in the south of the region, where the Filippovka, Bystrica, Pizhma, Yaran, Nemda, Voya and Bolshaya Kokshaga rivers began to be cleared of ice. In 2024, Svyatitsa and Suna were already ice-free by April 5.
With an increase in temperature, a further rise in the water level in the rivers is expected. Last year, the daily growth ranged from 1 to 177 cm, depending on the reservoir.
