In three years, the number of bus routes to the districts of the Kirov region has tripled.
Over the past three years, the Kirovpassazhiravtotrans regional enterprise, subordinate to the Ministry of Transport of the Kirov region, has tripled the number of bus routes in the regions of the region. The company's buses provide intercity, suburban and urban transportation.
Thus, from 2021 to 2024, KPAT's route network expanded by 88%, from 59 routes to 111 routes. Moreover, the number of routes in the municipalities of the region has increased the most — by 3 times (from 17 routes in 2021 to 53 routes in 2024). The number of intercity routes (over a distance of 50 km between the borders of settlements) has increased 2.4 times.
— We managed to attract funds from a special treasury loan, which were used to purchase 111 buses of medium and small classes. These buses were primarily sent to the districts of the Kirov region in order to connect municipalities with the regional center and organize intra—district routes," said Alexey Zherdev, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kirov Region.
For example, due to the renewal of the fleet, regular passenger services have been resumed on inter–municipal bus routes: Kirov - Rudnichny; Kirov – Nagorsk and Kirov – Afanasievo. Residents asked for all these routes, and on behalf of the Governor of the Kirov region, Alexander Sokolov, new buses were first delivered to remote municipalities.
