The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation recalled that the self-locking service for loans and borrowings on the Public Services portal began operating on March 1, 2025. Within 10 days of the service's operation, it has already been used by 5 million people who have self-signed up to receive a loan remotely. The Ministry said that the oldest applicant is 103 years old.
The ministry noted that it is possible to ban the issuance of loans and loans in banks and microfinance organizations in whole or in part. For example, you can prohibit only remote loan processing, but about 90% choose a complete ban.
Residents of Moscow (951,000 applications), St. Petersburg (388,000 applications), the Moscow Region (307,000 applications) and the Krasnodar Territory (185 thousand applications) most often apply for loans.
The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation stressed that a self-ban on loans will help protect yourself from fraudsters. In the credit history of those who have submitted an application, a special mark appears with the date of the start of the self-lock. This mark does not allow banks and MFIs to approve loan applications. You can remove the restriction at any time on the Public Services portal.
