A resident of Omutninsk "dropped" a drone and saved a colleague.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Roman L., a native of the Omutninsky district, serves as a driver in the evacuation group. In January of this year, he was tasked with moving to an evacuation point near the line of contact with the enemy and picking up the wounded man, taking him to a safe place and handing him over to the medics.

Our countryman reached the designated place, picked up the wounded soldier and went to the rear. On the way, the man noticed an enemy drone. The drone was performing an attacking maneuver and was approaching the car in which Roman was carrying the wounded soldier. "An ordinary soldier from the Omutninsky district got his bearings in the situation and, when the drone approached the car, turned on electronic warfare equipment. Then he turned the steering wheel sharply and changed the direction of travel. Thanks to these actions, the enemy drone lost its target, crashed into the ground and exploded without harming anyone," the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Our countryman completed the task and took the wounded comrade to a safe place, handed him over to the doctors. The Ministry of Defense noted that thanks to Roman's actions, the wounded soldier was rescued twice.
