All-Russian youth mountaineering competitions are held in Kirov on the basis of the Trampoline sports complex: ice climbing, difficulty, speed. The final stage of the Russian Mountaineering Cup of the current season will be held tomorrow, March 9th.
According to the regional government, more than 120 of the strongest climbers from 13 regions of Russia, including members of the national team and masters of sports, came to the competition. Sergey Sulik, the Regional Minister of Sports, noted that Kirov is a recognized training center for champions and a traditional venue for All—Russian ice climbing competitions. "Kirov athletes, whose names are known far beyond the region, are particularly proud. Their victories at Russian and international competitions are the best proof of the high level of development of mountaineering and ice climbing in the region," the minister noted.
The final ascents to the Kirov icicle will begin on Sunday, March 9, at 9 a.m.
