Kirov residents complain to the president about making an appointment with doctors
Kirov residents faced serious difficulties making appointments with doctors, which prompted them to contact the President of Russia on a direct line with complaints about the unavailability of medical care. The problems relate both to appointments with therapists and to specialized specialists such as cardiologists, neurologists, and otolaryngologists.
In particular, Larisa, a resident of Kirov, spoke about the months-long difficulties in getting to a therapist, even with a sick leave. There were no free places to make appointments at polyclinic No. 9 on Verkhosunskaya Street, which meant she had to spend several hours on a first-come, first-served basis. There were cases when Larisa did not have time to get to an appointment due to the closure of the office.
Leonid Pavlovich, another Kirov resident, also shared his story. There is no cardiologist at his clinic on Dzerzhinsky Street, and he is offered an appointment at another clinic only after a month and a half. A similar situation is observed with a neurologist and an otolaryngologist.
Due to the large number of complaints in different regions of the country, the Popular Front organized a survey to identify systemic health problems. The results of the survey, which is available here, will be used to develop solutions to improve the situation. Residents of Kirov and other regions are being urged to share their experience of receiving medical care before March 31.
