Russian women conquer the labor market, but face burnout and wage inequality

Activity and invitations: Women show increased activity in job search: 50.4% of active resumes on hh.ru they belong to women. Moreover, employers are more likely to invite Russians for interviews: 120.7 million invitations (58% of the total number) were sent to women in 2024.
Salary expectations and financial situation: Despite the activity and demand, women continue to underestimate their salary expectations. The median expected salary in the resume of women is 60.6 thousand rubles, while for men it is 88.8 thousand rubles. At the same time, many women do not have enough current income for basic needs.
Investing in education: To improve their prospects, Russian women are actively investing in education and professional development: 22% of women spend part of their salary on education, which is 7% more than men.
Personal life and psychology at work: Interestingly, women are less likely to have affairs at work and are more polite when communicating with colleagues. However, the study found that Russian women are more likely and more prone to burnout, experiencing fatigue and anxiety due to work issues.
Plans for 2025: To cope with burnout and improve their quality of life, women plan to pay more attention to communicating with their loved ones (60%) and their hobbies (56%). 40% plan to engage in self-development. In addition, 67% of Russians intend to be more actively involved in budget management and improving financial literacy (65%), and 45% plan to start investing.
Career ambitions: 64% of the women surveyed plan to develop a career in 2025, perhaps even change their field of activity. This is due to the fact that only 12% of women were promoted in 2024. The most popular areas for changing activities are the public sector, IT, and the media.
