Olimpiya lost to Omsk Wings in the last home match of the season.
The first period of the game started actively. The hosts of the ice field opened the scoring: in the 18th minute, Andrey Karavaev scored the puck into the opponent's goal. The second third of the game ended well for the guests. The Omsk Wings players successfully realized three dangerous moments and scored goals in the 29th, 34th and 37th minutes. In the last period, there were hopes that Olimpia would regain the advantage in the score, but the Kirovo-Chepetsk hockey players only managed to reduce the gap to a minimum by scoring one goal against the Omsk Wings. Nikita Blednov, the 74th number of the Chepetsky hockey players, distinguished himself. The final whistle sounded and the match ended with a score of 2-3. It should be noted that this was the seventh defeat in a row for the Kirovo-Chepetsk team.
The head coach of HC Olimpia, Yuri Kultynov, shared his opinion about the last game: "Today, hockey players from the KHL (Kontinental Hockey League) even played against us. It's great that hockey in Kirovo-Chepetsk is loved, worried, and sick. As for the game, we still don't have enough concentration for the entire 60 minutes, and we don't have enough luck. We had a good first period. We had some good moments too: we went on a break, leading the score. In the third period, we scored the second goal, ran forward, created chances, created shots. There was traffic, and there were finishes, but the puck was not going anywhere. Maybe we haven't earned this farce yet. Well, there's still a lack of skill...".
The Kirovo-Chepetsk team's next match will be played on March 12 against Ska-Neva in St. Petersburg, and the last match of the current season will be held in Moscow.
