Kirov region and Belarus to hold joint events in honor of 80th anniversary of Victory

      Governor Alexander Sokolov announced a meeting with a delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alexander Rogozhnik. During the meeting, the parties laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and discussed plans for joint commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.

      Sokolov stressed that Russia and Belarus share a common history and a vision for the future. He noted that Belarus is an important trading partner of the Kirov region, ranking first among the CIS countries in terms of foreign trade. The region actively cooperates with Belarus in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, transport, chemical and food industries.

      During the visit, the delegation visited a number of Kirov enterprises. The signing of an agreement with the Brest region is on the agenda. The parties discussed the expansion of bilateral cooperation in timber processing, the machine tool industry, the supply of urban transport and special equipment, the construction of social and sports facilities, as well as cooperation in the agricultural sphere. The Governor expressed confidence that following the meeting, prompt decisions will be made on key areas of cooperation.
