In Russia, 80% of children aged 4-6 use the Internet

According to Galina Soldatova, Director of the Internet Development Fund, children in Russia begin to actively use the Internet from the age of 7-8. We are talking about the very first years of elementary school. "In recent years, our country has gained such momentum that our younger generation is now at the level of the most developed countries in terms of the development of the Internet space, and we are even ahead of them in a number of indicators. Thus, one third of children spend 8 hours a day on the Internet, and uncontrollably," the Kommersant newspaper quotes the expert as saying.

According to the results of a survey conducted as part of a project to study young Internet users across Europe, in Russia about 80% of children aged 4 to 6 use the Internet. As noted by Soldatova, this is a lot. Children of this age often watch cartoons and play on the Internet. So, the same scenario develops in most families, the expert added: parents buy tablets with good intentions for the education and development of the child, however, soon the tablet begins to perform only an entertaining function, and parents give it to the children so that the child does not interfere with their business. By the way, 15% of the children participating in the survey admitted that they had seen "all sorts of nasty things" on the Internet.

Soldatova advises to protect the child from any gadgets up to 3 years old. It is advisable to show the child something from your hands or with him, and devote no more than 10-15 minutes a day to this.
