Kirov residents were told how to mark hens.

      In the Kirov region, farm owners were reminded of the rules for marking and accounting for animals in the "Khoriot" component of the federal state information system "VetIS."

      It is necessary to register domestic birds and rabbits if there are more than 10 heads in the farm. For camels and reindeer, the requirement applies regardless of the number of animals.

      Marking is the owner's responsibility. For birds and rabbits, a group method is allowed: a special board with information that can be read from a distance of at least 1.5 meters must be placed on the outer wall of the holding area. This must be done within seven days after the animals are brought in or hatched.

      Marking materials—tags, chips, and other devices—can be purchased at state veterinary service institutions. After marking, the animal or group of animals must be registered in "Khoriot." This procedure is carried out free of charge by state veterinary service specialists.

      If an animal changes owners, is slaughtered, or dies, as well as in the case of a lost tag, this must be reported to the veterinary service within five days. When ownership changes, the new owner must provide information about the registered animal or group of animals.

      For a group of animals, there is an option for re-registration with a new unique number. This is allowed if more than 25% of the animals from the initially specified number in "Khoriot" are added to the group at the same time.
