An unvaccinated dog bit a person in the Slobodsky district.
On August 25, 2026, the Rosselkhoznadzor announced a warning to the owner of a dog from the village of Batashi in the Slobodsky district. The basis for the supervisory agency's intervention was the materials from the KUSP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Slobodskoy" and an informational letter from the veterinary department of the Kirov region. It was reported that the man's animal bit a 53-year-old citizen on the premises. In accordance with veterinary regulations, the owner was required to take the pet to a specialized institution for a clinical examination and quarantine within 12 hours, but this was not done. During the inspection, it was also established that the dog was not vaccinated against rabies and did not have a veterinary passport. The agency regarded this as a violation of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation "On Veterinary Medicine" and the current regulations governing the prevention, diagnosis, and restrictive measures in the event of a threat of rabies spread. The animal owner was warned about the inadmissibility of violating veterinary legislation requirements. The Rosselkhoznadzor reminded that owners are required to provide animals for examination and vaccination against infectious diseases at the request of authorized specialists of the state veterinary service.
