A two-year-old girl fell from the fifth floor window in Kirov and died.

      In Kirov, the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a two-year-old child who fell from a fifth-floor window. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kirov, around 11 a.m., the mother briefly left her daughter unattended in a room with an open window. The girl climbed onto the windowsill and fell out onto the street. Medics arrived at the scene and provided assistance to the child; however, she succumbed to her injuries. The police are currently conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Law enforcement officials remind parents not to leave small children unattended in rooms with open windows and balconies. Furniture and other items should not be placed near window openings. Specialists also recommend installing special restrictors and locking devices on windows. Mosquito nets do not provide protection against falls—they cannot support the weight of a child.
