The Ministry of Digital Development has published interim data on the preparations for the elections, which will take place from September 18 to 20. This year, Russians will be able to vote at several levels—from the elections of State Duma deputies to regional and local campaigns. One of the key tools, the federal online voting platform, is available to residents of 32 regions. So far, 2 million applications for participation in online voting have been submitted through "Gosuslugi."
The highest activity is observed in five regions. The absolute leader is the Moscow region with 389,000 applications. It is followed by Altai Krai (187,000), Sverdlovsk Oblast (179,000), Rostov Oblast (169,000), and Chuvashia (108,000).
At the same time, the "Mobile Voter" service is being developed for those who will be away from their place of registration on election days. More than 480,000 citizens have used it. The rules depend on the type of voting: in the State Duma elections, one can choose any polling station within the entire country, while in regional elections, only within their electoral district. An exception is provided for residents of six regions: they will be able to vote for the head of the region at polling stations in Moscow if they are in the capital.
The Ministry of Digital Development draws voters' attention to the possibility of adjusting their decisions. An application for online voting can be withdrawn, and the choice of polling station through the "Mobile Voter" can be canceled. This can be done until 23:59 Moscow time on September 14, after which it will not be possible to change the method of voting or polling station.
