An 18-year-old resident of the Darovsky district has been convicted in Kotelnich for car theft, robbery, and two thefts.

      The Kotel'nich Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov Region supported the charges in a criminal case against an 18-year-old resident of the Darovsky District. By the court's verdict, he was found guilty on four counts, as provided by part 1 of article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft of a vehicle), part 2 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery with the threat of using a weapon), subparagraph "b" of part 2 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft causing significant damage), and subparagraph "a" of part 3 of article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft with illegal entry into a dwelling).

      It was established that on the night of November 30, 2025, the defendant, while intoxicated, broke into a "Hyundai Solaris" car, started the engine, and began driving down Gagarin Street. During the trip, he lost control and crashed into a tree. The vehicle sustained mechanical damage, and the driver fled the scene.

      In December 2025, three more crimes were committed. According to the case materials, all of them occurred after the defendant became acquainted with the victims and visited their residences. The criminal's loot included a wallet with 10,000 rubles, food worth 217 rubles, and 200 rubles that were stolen after inflicting bodily harm, displaying a kitchen knife, and threatening to use it.

      According to the prosecutor's office, the material damage to the victims was fully compensated before the verdict was issued.

      The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecution, sentenced the defendant to a total of 1 year and 10 months of imprisonment with a fine of 35,000 rubles. He will serve the main sentence in a general regime correctional colony.

      In addition, taking into account the information about the personality and the specialists' conclusion regarding the presence of a mental disorder in the defendant that does not exclude his sanity, the court imposed on the convicted person the obligation to undergo outpatient treatment with a psychiatrist.
