The Kirov region found itself in the lower part of the regional ranking for high salaries.
According to the study, on average in Russia, about a third of workers earn above the adjusted average Russian salary. The Kirov region significantly lags behind most regions and is closer to the bottom of the ranking — in 64th place out of 85.
Even fewer workers in the region earn more than two average Russian salaries. Such employees accounted for 2.3%.
For comparison, the leader of the ranking is the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, where 65.8% of workers earn above the average Russian salary. In the Magadan region, the figure was 57.2%, in Chukotka — 56.5%. In Moscow — 44.5%, in St. Petersburg — 43.8%.
When compiling the ranking, experts considered the salaries of workers in large and medium-sized enterprises from April 2025 to April 2026. The average Russian figure was adjusted for each region taking into account the local price level.
At the same time, the authors of the study note that the statistics may not fully reflect the real situation in regions where cash-in-hand salary payments are common.
