The year 2027 could become the hottest in history.
According to the authors of the Telegram channel "Amateur Meteorology in Kirov," such a sharp warming will occur against the backdrop of a super El Niño. At the end of 2026, the natural phenomenon will reach peak values: the temperature of the water in the Pacific Ocean will rise by +3.3°C, significantly surpassing all previously observed El Niño events. Due to the strong rise in global temperatures this autumn and winter, 2026 also has a chance to become record warm, but only for a short time. 2027 is expected to be much warmer. During a strong El Niño, heat from the western part of the Pacific Ocean shifts towards South America. Powerful storms carry it into the upper layers of the atmosphere, and winds spread it around the world, raising global temperatures.
