Kirov residents are being frightened by fake recalculations and are being tricked into giving away codes from SMS.

Kirov residents are being frightened by fake recalculations and are being tricked into giving away codes from SMS.

According to the security service of the Kirov branch of "Energosbyt Plus," scammers are creating chats in messengers under the name of the company. The name of the organization and the logo may slightly differ from the real ones. In such messages, the perpetrators claim that the client is allegedly entitled to a recalculation for electricity, has received a bonus, or has debts written off. Sometimes they ask to confirm the operation and provide a code from an SMS. By obtaining such a code, scammers can gain access to the account on State Services, banking applications, and other services. "Energosbyt Plus" emphasized that the company's employees do not create chats in messengers for communication with clients and do not request personal data, codes from SMS, or bank card details. Residents of the region are advised to use only the official website of the company and the "Energosbyt+" application. If a phone conversation or messaging is related to the transmission of personal data and raises suspicions, communication should be immediately terminated. The company also advises warning elderly relatives about such a scam scheme. If the scammers have already made contact or if data has been transmitted to them, it is necessary to contact the police.
