Kirov police have tracked down a serial dacha thief.
The owner of a private house in the village of Kropachi contacted the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Kirov. Three chainsaws, a welding machine, and an angle grinder went missing from his shed. The estimated damage, according to the victim, amounted to 44,000 rubles.
During operational-search activities, the criminal investigation department identified the suspected perpetrator. He turned out to be a 33-year-old man with a criminal record. He was detained.
Subsequently, the police proved the detainee's involvement in two more thefts. One of them occurred in a private house on 3rd Kursky Lane, where a pressure washer and a brush cutter were stolen. The other took place in a summer house in the gardening partnership "Rassvet," where a grinding machine and other property went missing.
In all cases, the perpetrator gained entry into the premises through broken doors. The homeowners were not present at the time of the thefts. The stolen items were kept at the residence of his acquaintance, with plans to resell them later.
The police intend to return the seized items to their rightful owners. Criminal cases have been initiated based on part 2 and part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft with illegal entry into premises and residences). An investigation is underway.
