Starting September 1, train tickets will not be available to all passengers.

      The new order from the Ministry of Transport primarily concerns passengers with limited mobility — and those who are used to purchasing specialized seats without restrictions will be unpleasantly surprised.

      The main innovation: seats for wheelchair users will no longer be sold freely. They are now reserved exclusively for passengers with reduced mobility. It will no longer be possible to buy such a ticket in the usual way, as before.

      For other categories of passengers with disabilities, a separate regulation applies. A specialized seat can only be reserved 10 days before the train's departure. At the same time, a strict limitation has been introduced: companions are not allowed to occupy such seats if the person with a disability is not participating in the trip.

      The innovations also affected the general ticketing process. Now, when purchasing a long-distance train ticket, the passenger is required to provide contact information — a phone number or email address. This is done so that the carrier can promptly inform about any changes: cancellation of the flight, route change, or carriage replacement.
