In Kirov, compliance with military registration among new citizens of the Russian Federation was checked.
In Kirov, an interdepartmental check on compliance with migration legislation took place. The event was organized by employees of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kirov garrison. Inspections were conducted on the central streets of the city, as well as at markets, construction sites, warehouses, and retail outlets—places where citizens who have recently obtained Russian citizenship most often work.
According to the law, men of conscription age are required to register with the military enlistment office after obtaining a Russian passport. Moreover, this obligation arises for a foreign citizen from the moment they take the oath, even before receiving the passport. The deadline for registration is two weeks. However, as noted by the department, in practice, new citizens often do not fulfill this requirement immediately after receiving their documents.
During today's raid at the Central Market of Kirov, it was established that individuals who had previously violated migration legislation are currently registered with the military enlistment offices in the city.
In total, dozens of such violators have been identified in the Kirov region this year. All of them have been registered, and migration legislation has been brought into compliance. Violators have been held administratively accountable.
Similar interdepartmental raids, it should be added, are taking place not only in the Kirov region but also in other regions of the country.
