Pensions will increase, and children of Heroes will receive benefits: what laws come into effect in August.

      In August, new laws and changes will come into force in Russia. They will affect payments to pensioners, tax notifications, protection against cyber fraud, support for military personnel and their families, as well as the rules for the operation of communication operators and the improvement of territories. The list of major innovations has been published on the State Duma's website.

      Law that came into force on July 26

      Children of Heroes of Russia will receive benefits when enrolling in schools and kindergartens

      From July 26, children of Heroes of the Russian Federation and full holders of the Order of Glory have the right to priority placement in state and municipal educational organizations at their place of residence. The benefit applies to schools and preschool institutions.

      Laws coming into force on August 1

      Accumulated pensions will increase

      From August 1, the amount of the accumulated pension and the urgent pension payment will be increased automatically. Accumulated pensions will rise by 17.3%, while urgent pension payments will increase by 19.32%.

      New rules for receiving tax notifications

      From August 1, for citizens registered on the State Services portal, the priority form of receiving tax notifications will be electronic. At the same time, Russians will retain the option to receive documents on paper if they are not registered on the portal or have refused the electronic format. In addition, information from the personal account on State Services will be considered tax secret.

      Laws coming into force on August 6

      Responsibility for cyber fraud will be tightened

      From August 6, liability will be introduced for violating a number of requirements when concluding communication contracts with foreigners and stateless persons. Such violations may result in a fine of up to 500,000 rubles or imprisonment for up to one year. Additionally, for the illegal collection or dissemination of information about private life, as well as violations of the confidentiality of correspondence and telephone conversations for selfish motives, punishment of up to four years in prison is provided.

      Communication operators will be allowed access to homes

      From August 6, there will be liability for managing organizations that violate the rules of interaction with communication operators when installing, operating, and dismantling equipment in apartment buildings. The maximum fine for violations will be 500,000 rubles.

      Improvement will be included in the list of volunteer activities

      The list of goals for charitable and volunteer activities will include assistance in improving territories. This refers to cleaning parks and yards, greening, arranging playgrounds, and other works. The law will allow participants in such projects to count on state support.

      Advertising of Russian wineries along roads will be permitted

      From August 6, the placement of advertisements for Russian winemaking enterprises along public roads in regions where the corresponding productions are located will be allowed. At the same time, such advertising must be exclusively informational in nature.

      Law coming into force on August 26

      Volunteers will receive additional days off

      From August 26, participants in volunteer formations will be able to receive additional leave for personal circumstances. The number of days and the procedure for granting such leave will be determined by the Ministry of Defense of Russia or the National Guard.
