Kirov convicts have turned to art.

      The competition was organized to identify and develop the creative abilities of inmates, as well as to promote folk crafts and various aspects of national culture. The works were evaluated based on originality, quality of execution, artistic value, and practical applicability.

      In the "Painting" category, the first place was awarded to the painting "Defenders of the Fatherland," created by an inmate from IK-6. The second place went to the work "Boy at the Pier" from LIU-12, and the third place was taken by the painting "Summer" from IK-1.

      In the panel competition, the winning work was created by an inmate from IK-33. The second place was taken by a panel presented by KP-21.

      In the "Applied Creativity" category, the first place was awarded to the craft "Lotus" from IK-33. The glowing flower is made of fabric, with backlighting installed inside. The second place was taken by the work "Tank" from SIZO-2. The third place was shared by representatives from IK-5 and SIZO-1.

      In the "Artistic Sculpting" category, the winning work was "Eternal Flame" from SIZO-2. The second place also went to a representative of the institution for the craft "Tank Battle."

      The Federal Penitentiary Service noted that engaging in creative activities helps organize useful employment for inmates and contributes to their rehabilitation.
