Some vegetables and fruits from Uzbekistan will no longer be imported to Russia.

The Rosselkhoznadzor will restrict the import of quarantine products from five exporters from Uzbekistan to Russia starting July 23. The decision was made due to systematic violations of phytosanitary requirements, the agency reported.

The restrictions apply to white and cauliflower, onions, dill, parsley, grapes, beets, tomatoes, and other vegetables and fruits. These products constitute the main volume of supplies from unscrupulous exporters.

Since the beginning of 2026, 132 cases of quarantine objects have been detected when importing products from Uzbekistan. Among them are the tomato brown rugose fruit virus, the South American tomato moth, the western (California) flower thrips, and the necrotic yellowing virus of beet veins.

The Rosselkhoznadzor noted that the systematic violation of Russian and international phytosanitary requirements indicates the insufficient effectiveness of Uzbekistan's system for ensuring the safety of products supplied to the Russian market.

Recall that on July 17, the Rosselkhoznadzor asked Iran to suspend the certification of flowers supplied to Russia. The agency pointed out that the volume of supplies from Iran significantly increased in 2026, and the products in terms of external characteristics and packaging turned out to be identical to those from Armenia, the import of which has been banned since May 22.
