The flood washed away part of the foundation of a residential building in the village of Kosino.
In the village of Kosino in the Zuevsky district, a flood occurred at the end of June due to heavy rains. The flow of water washed away gardens, fences, outbuildings, and part of the foundation of residential building No. 27 on Kirova Street.
A month has passed, and the situation is only getting worse: bricks continue to crumble, the apron has shifted, and the ground has collapsed. An adult person about 160 centimeters tall can fit into the formed pit. During the rains, the pit fills with water, which could lead to further collapse.
There are two apartments in the house, but only one is inhabited — the municipal one. It is home to a retired couple. They contacted the local administration, where they were offered a bag of cement, and at the district level — to relocate to uninhabitable apartments or to houses located 20 kilometers from Kosino. The people refused such "help": they had recently tidied up their apartment. They were later promised that the foundation would be repaired, but no deadlines were given.
Then the retirees turned to the People's Front. Dmitry Sergeev, an expert from the public movement, inspected the building and stated that the load-bearing structure of the house was destroyed, which is an emergency situation.
"There are two solutions here: to relocate people and demolish the building, or to repair it quickly if technically possible," he noted.
After the activists' appeal, the Zuevsky district administration promised that repairs would begin soon and even purchased building materials. The work is expected to be completed in August.
