Kirov residents got stuck on vacation after the sudden cancellation of flights by the airline "Azimuth."

      A resident of Kirov contacted the editorial office of Newsler.ru to report the cancellation of the Azimuth flight from "Mineralnye Vody to Kirov." According to her, the airline operated flights between the cities twice a week — on Thursdays and Sundays.

      The passenger shared that her family purchased round-trip tickets on July 16 and arrived for a vacation in Mineralnye Vody on July 19. The return flight was scheduled for July 26.

      However, on the evening of July 20, passengers received a notification about the cancellation of flights from July 23 to August 30. Thus, Kirov residents who are already on vacation were forced to look for alternative ways to return home.

      "There were at least 50 people flying with us on the plane, about the same number probably flew on the 16th, and those people have not returned yet either," the reader said.

      According to the passenger, immediately after receiving the cancellation notice, the family began looking for other options. Connecting flights at the time of the search cost about 24,000 rubles per person, excluding luggage. Initially, tickets from Azimuth in both directions cost about 12,000 rubles per person without luggage and about 15,000 rubles with luggage.

      "Tickets for connecting flights were around 24,000 without luggage. They haven't calculated luggage yet, but it will likely add up," the Kirov resident said.

      The family is not considering the train option for now: the journey takes about 43 hours.

      The passenger also reported that after the flight cancellation, she submitted a request for a refund. According to her, the airline warned that processing such requests could take up to 30 days.

      "We are still looking for tickets. You understand, we only found out about this yesterday around 7, and we have only managed to submit refund requests so far," the reader said.

      According to the Kirov resident, passengers were also not offered a ready option to exchange tickets for other flights. As a result, people have to independently search for ways to get home while simultaneously dealing with the payment for new tickets.

      The editorial office of Newsler.ru sent a request to the Azimuth airline asking for an explanation of the reasons for the cancellation of flights between Kirov and Mineralnye Vody, as well as to discuss possible options for assisting passengers already at their destination.
