Restrictions on fuel sales have begun to be lifted in Russia.
According to Novak, the fuel situation in the country remains tense, but in a number of regions it has noticeably improved. He stated this on July 21 at a meeting on the state of the domestic oil products market.
"Currently, the situation is somewhat stabilizing, although it is still tense, but it has gotten better in many regions," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
At the same time, Novak noted the significant rise in gasoline prices at independent gas stations. He instructed the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Antimonopoly Service to study the situation and present proposals for stabilizing fuel prices.
As the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out, the situation was improved by the ban on the export of oil products and an increase in fuel supplies to the domestic market through imports. In addition, production volumes have increased, and the repair timelines for several oil refineries have been postponed.
The authorities are paying special attention to ensuring fuel supplies for agricultural enterprises during the harvest campaign. The necessary volumes of oil products must also be provided to the regions participating in the northern supply program.
As reported by the newspaper "Izvestia," against the backdrop of the price situation, the FAS initiated 15 antimonopoly cases on July 21 against several companies in the oil industry and participants in the fuel market. The agency saw signs of a possible oil cartel in the actions of some of them during the auctions.
