The relocation has been washed out: Kirov residents are stuck in Perm and cannot return home.
On the night of July 15 to 16, at the 1566th kilometer of the Kisherte – Shumkovo stretch of the Sverdlovsk Railway, five freight wagons and the locomotive of freight train No. 2314, which was transporting alumina, derailed.
The cause of the incident was local washout and destruction of the railway track due to adverse weather conditions. There are no casualties, and no leaks of hazardous substances have been recorded, reports the Central Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
Train traffic on this section has been suspended until the restoration work is completed. As a result, nine passenger trains are delayed.
Kirov residents cannot return home
Kirov residents who went to Perm report that they cannot get back. At Perm II station, there is a collapse: waiting rooms are overcrowded, and people are sitting on their suitcases. Passengers have been waiting for the train since five in the morning, although departure was scheduled for 10 o'clock.
According to the arrival board, some trains are delayed by 12 hours, reports "AiF.Perm":
No. 73 Tyumen – St. Petersburg — 12-hour delay;
No. 69 Chita – Moscow — 12-hour delay;
No. 149 Chelyabinsk – St. Petersburg — 12-hour delay;
No. 109 Novy Urengoy – Moscow — 4 hours 20 minutes delay;
No. 1 Vladivostok – Moscow — 5 hours 2 minutes delay;
No. 85 Serov – Moscow — 5 hours 4 minutes delay.
How train routes are changing
Today we already reported that restoration work on the Kisherte – Shumkovo stretch has made adjustments to the schedule of passenger trains. Some trains have been rerouted — trains No. 73, 69, 149, 109, 1, and 85 are following through the stations Kuzino, Lysva, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil, and Chusovaya. The scheme is similar for opposing routes. Passengers whose trains are delayed by more than 4 hours will be provided with meals at the stations of Perm, Yekaterinburg, and Shuvakish.
Investigators from the Central Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia have arrived at the scene of the incident, and an investigation is being conducted under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules for the movement and operation of railway transport).
