In the Kirov region, inflation has accelerated to almost 7%: gasoline has risen in price the most.
According to the Bank of Russia and Rosstat, in June 2026, prices in the Kirov region increased by 0.9% compared to May. Year-on-year inflation was 6.88%, while the average across Russia was 6.02%.
Non-food goods saw the most noticeable price increase in June. The rise in prices for food and services also continued, but was less significant. Over the past 12 months, the cost of services grew faster than overall inflation, while goods became more expensive at a slower rate than the average level.
One of the factors contributing to inflation acceleration in the region was the reduction in the supply of motor fuel. The Bank of Russia notes that increased seasonal demand coincided with repairs at oil refineries, which affected supply volumes. As a result, gasoline in the Kirov region became 22.9% more expensive over the year.
In addition to fuel, prices for vegetables rose in June. This is related to the seasonal reduction in stocks from last year's harvest and increased transportation costs. Prices for meat and fish products continued to rise, as producers included increased labor, packaging, and logistics costs in their prices. Sugar prices also increased due to seasonal stock reductions.
At the same time, some goods became cheaper. For example, chicken eggs decreased in price by 13.25% over the month due to increased production in the region and across the country as a whole. Additionally, prices for dairy products and cheeses fell, while among non-food goods, prices for televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and other household appliances continued to decline. The Bank of Russia explains this by the decrease in consumer demand and the strengthening of the ruble, which reduced the cost of imported products and components.
Many services also became more expensive. This primarily affected the tourism sector. Prices for excursion tours within Russia, foreign trips, and vacations on the Black Sea coast increased.
The Bank of Russia notes that in June, the rate of price growth in the Kirov region was almost in line with the national average; however, year-on-year inflation in the region remains higher than the national average. The regulator emphasized that it will continue to conduct monetary policy aimed at gradually reducing inflation to the target level of around 4%.
