Severe injury at the factory in Kirov: The State Labor Inspectorate identified violations in metal storage.
An incident at the non-ferrous metal processing plant in Kirov occurred when an employee was preparing bundles of sheet metal for shipment to the etching shop. Due to uneven weight distribution on the pallet, it shifted along with the metal. As a result, the operator was trapped between the load elements — the injury to the right leg was classified as severe.
Immediately after receiving information about the incident, the State Labor Inspectorate in the Kirov region initiated an unscheduled on-site inspection at the enterprise. The basis for this was the need to take urgent measures to prevent further threats to the life and health of workers.
During the supervisory activities, inspectors recorded systemic violations of storage rules. As explained by the Deputy Head of the Labor Inspectorate A. D. Loginov, basic requirements for the placement of goods were not followed on the site: metal waste in the shop was stacked without restraining devices, and heavy bundles of sheet non-ferrous metal were stored without cushioning material between rows. Such a storage organization, according to the inspectors, could lead to the rolling of materials and their falling at the moment when workers extract the load.
As a result of the inspection, the enterprise was issued a mandatory compliance order requiring the elimination of all identified violations of labor legislation. Information on the progress of the execution of the order and further actions of the supervisory authority will be published additionally, the agency's press service reported.

The operator of the non-ferrous metal processing line at the Kirov enterprise sustained serious injuries while moving a load — a stack of sheet metal shifted and pinned his leg. An unscheduled inspection initiated after the incident revealed that materials in the warehouse were stored without pads and restraints, which posed a risk of heavy objects falling on workers.
