The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Kirov Region confirmed the information about the passing of Nikolai Nikolaevich Strelnikov. The veteran passed away on July 14, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1955, in the village of Shchekotovo in the Yaran district.
Strelnikov's service in the fire department began in 1976 when he joined as a firefighter in SVPCh-3 of the UPO of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Kirov Regional Executive Committee, which at that time provided protection for the Lenin district of Kirov. Alongside his service, he pursued higher education: in 1979, he graduated from the Kirov Pedagogical Institute, and in 1992, he graduated from the Ivanovo Fire Technical School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Over the years, Nikolai Strelnikov rose from a regular firefighter to the deputy head of the department — head of the service and training department of the State Fire Service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Kirov Region. His service record includes participation in extinguishing large and complex fires. In 2004, he retired.
Among the veteran's awards is the honorary title of "Honored Worker of the Fire Service of the Kirov Region." Additionally, Strelnikov held the title of Master of Sports in fire-applied sports. He is also known in the region as one of the founders of the Kirov branch of the Federation of Fire-Applied Sports of Russia.
The agency noted that the leadership of the Main Directorate and all personnel express their condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased.
Farewell to Nikolai Strelnikov will take place on July 17 at 9:30 AM at the Prometheus Training and Rescue Center in Kirov (Lepse St., 30).
