A resident of the Nemsky district was deprived of their driver's license due to alcoholism.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Nemsky District of the Kirov Region has achieved through the court the termination of the right to operate vehicles for a 29-year-old local resident.
As reported by the agency, during a check of compliance with traffic safety legislation, it was revealed that the man has a driver's license, but is registered with a narcologist and suffers from alcoholism.
According to the legislation, diseases related to dependence on alcohol, narcotic, and other substances, in the absence of stable remission and necessary treatment, are contraindications to driving a vehicle.
The prosecutor's office noted that having people with such restrictions behind the wheel can pose a threat to other road users and lead to accidents, injuries, and material damage.
After the inspection, the prosecutor filed an administrative lawsuit in court. The court recognized the claims as lawful and terminated the man's access to operating vehicles.
The enforcement of the court's decision is under the control of the prosecutor's office.
