From July 3 to 5, the traffic police of the Kirov region detained 37 drivers who were behind the wheel while intoxicated or refused to undergo a medical examination.
In total, over the past weekend, 663 violations of traffic rules were detected on the region's roads. In addition to intoxicated motorists, inspectors detained 48 individuals who were driving without a driver's license or had previously been deprived of the right to drive.
According to the traffic police, during the same period, 23 traffic accidents occurred in the Kirov region. As a result of the accidents, 29 people were injured.
The agency reminded that driving a vehicle while intoxicated carries a fine of 45,000 rubles and a suspension of driving rights for a period of one and a half to two years. Law enforcement urged residents of the region not to get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol and to adhere to traffic rules.
