The accident occurred after the New Year holidays — the owners noticed it due to condensation in the stairwell, and upon going downstairs, discovered a layer of water about 25 centimeters deep. The flooding also affected the bomb shelter owned by the Kirov Civil Defense Administration.
After the People's Front appealed to the supervisory authorities, a response was received: the management company reported that it had pumped out the water and conducted disinfection. However, a subsequent visit by the residents disproved this information — the water had not left the basement. Since the first appeal, new consequences have emerged in the premises: small flies have multiplied, and a motionless rat was found. Residents suspect that it drowned. Due to the persistent humidity, plaster continues to fall off the walls.
As the problem remains unresolved, the People's Front has prepared a repeated appeal to the controlling authorities.
The head of the regional branch of the People's Front, Valeria Cheremisina, reminded that a similar flooding occurred in the same building two years ago. At that time, the management company was fined 125,000 rubles, the leak was eliminated, repairs were made, and the ceilings were reinforced. However, the situation has repeated itself. Cheremisina noted that the incident remains under the control of public activists. Snow falling on a child and damaged facades: the prosecutor's office of the Kirov region summarized the results of supervision over the management company. A case was initiated against the management company due to the stairwell on Komsomolskaya. The Kirov management company lost a lawsuit against the State Housing Inspectorate three times.
