The displays on the Kirov buses are being changed.
According to the company, the update will affect buses operating on routes No. 70, No. 129, and No. 136. In addition, new service messages have been added to the system, and the content of the voice announcements has been completely revamped.
Changes have also been made to the electronic route indicators. Now, only the route number and the final destination will be displayed on the side screens, similar to the information on the front indicator. Meanwhile, the interior screens have become more informative: they display the date and time, information about the monitoring of vehicle movement, as well as announcements about staff recruitment.
The transport company explained that the update is being carried out in stages. Since the company operates about 150 buses, configuring the equipment takes more than a week. The majority of the work is done at night when the vehicles return to the depot.
The completion of the system updates is planned for July 5.
New stop names will also appear on the auto-informers and electronic displays. For example, the stop "Pesochnaia Street" will become "ZhK Zaryadnoe," "TsNTI" will be "VyatGU," "Malaya Subbotikha" will be "Zarechye," and "Azina Street" will be renamed to "Fund of Defenders of the Fatherland."
