The rise of the Kama has halted traffic on two bridges in the Kirov region.
According to the hydropost in the village of Afanasyevo, the water level in the Kama River has reached 403 cm, rising by 68 cm in just one day. As a result, traffic has been suspended on the pontoon bridges near the village of Svetlakovy and the settlement of Kamsky. A boat ferry has been organized for the residents of the village of Svetlakovy. Furthermore, on the highway Afanasyevo — border of the Verkhnekamsky district, near the pipeline crossing over the Shumsha River, the outlet head and the sloping walls have collapsed, and the road surface has partially been destroyed. Local authorities reported that the contracting organization AO "Vyatavtodor" has already conducted emergency work. To strengthen the roadside in the eroded area, 80 tons of inert material were brought in, and the emergency section has been cordoned off. Currently, constant monitoring of the road and the pipeline crossing is being conducted. The head of the Afanasyevsky municipal district, Elena Beleva, who reported on the situation on her social media page, urged residents of the district to exercise caution and take the restrictions into account when planning trips.
