In the city of Kirs in the Verkhnekamsky district, a new water heating boiler house is planned to be built. The project has already received a positive conclusion from the state expertise. The construction will be handled by T Plus. The new facility will be equipped with eight boilers. Unlike the existing CHPP, the boiler house will operate on local fuel — peat and waste from woodworking enterprises, particularly chips. According to calculations, the refusal to use imported coal will save the economy of the Kirov region more than 1.6 billion rubles over the next 10 years at 2026 prices. Preparations for construction have already begun. Old buildings have been demolished on the site, the foundation for the future building has been prepared, and the installation of pile foundations has begun. The new boiler house is expected to replace the Kirs CHPP, which currently provides heating to residential buildings, social facilities, and the production premises of the Kirs Cable plant. The existing CHPP operates on coal that is brought in from other regions and is reported to be in unsatisfactory condition. It is expected that the new facility will make the city's heat supply more stable and economical.
