Youth called it the "dream salary": how much young Russians want to earn
Analysts have found that Russians aged 18 to 24 estimate a comfortable income for themselves at an average of 83,422 rubles per month. This is almost 15,000 rubles less than the average figure for the country.
Overall, Russians consider a decent salary at the current stage of their careers to be 98,471 rubles. Most often, survey participants mentioned a range of 50,000 to 70,000 rubles per month.
The survey showed that a third of young professionals consider an acceptable income to be within this range. Another 21% of respondents aged under 24 are willing to start their careers with a salary of up to 50,000 rubles.
The research also revealed that not all work in their profession. Among Russians with professional education, only 39% work in their specialty. Another 12% chose a related field, while 40% admitted to completely changing their area of activity.
When it comes to job searching, young people most often learn about vacancies through advertisement websites and marketplaces — this option was chosen by 40% of respondents. Social networks came in second place (33%), and advice from friends and acquaintances was third (30%).
As noted by experts from Avito, for young job seekers today, not only salary is important, but also a convenient way to search for vacancies, as well as the ability to quickly enter the profession without a long wait.
