"The city that we build ourselves": a master class by a famous political scientist was held at VyatSU
On June 24, in the assembly hall of the Engineering Institute of the largest university in the Kirov region, the coordinator of the federal project "Urban Solutions," an expert in the field of territorial development, Daria Kislitsyna, spoke. For the gathered residents of Kirov, she conducted a master class on the topic "The City We Build Ourselves: Principles of Social Architecture."
For over 10 years, Daria Olegovna has been working with hard-to-reach regions. During this time, she has visited many subjects, including Chukotka and Yakutia. Her rich experience and deep understanding of the problems of territorial development became the foundation for an inspiring speech.
"I believe that love for the country greatly depends on what you have seen. The more you see, the more you understand what is right and what is not quite right. You can see the imperfections that exist and suggest how to solve them. This inspires me greatly," the speaker explained. The speaker paid special attention to reviewing existing practices and forms of building communication between society and the authorities. The listeners learned how to be heard and bring their ideas in the field of social architecture to life.
Daria Kislitsyna spoke about the mechanisms that give residents the opportunity to participate in changing the urban environment and influence decisions that affect their daily lives. As the expert noted, today residents want to participate not only in voting for improvement projects but also in formulating the changes themselves. A vivid example is the Federal Project "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment," which has gathered more than 16 million participants.
"Every sixth Russian has made a decision about which facility should be implemented in their municipality or city. Such involvement is not found in any other country in the world," the speaker emphasized. Daria Olegovna also talked about current projects in the regions, the principles of creating territorial development projects, and presented her own checklist for a successful project:
"Start with the issues, answer the question: why are you creating this project? It should be clear and practical. Identify the target group and rely on their daily experience. Don't forget to build an initiative group around the project."
At the end of the master class, those present were able to ask the speaker questions of interest, to which Daria Olegovna provided comprehensive answers, leaving the audience with a sense of inspiration and readiness to act.
