The Kremlin commented on the removal of Russian apps from the App Store.
The official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, confirmed the removal of a number of Russian applications from the App Store and stated that what happened raises questions about the reliability of Apple as a provider of commercial services.
"Certainly, this raises questions about the reliability of this service and how much trust can be placed in it as a provider of commercial services," Peskov said.
According to him, such a situation has occurred before. The Kremlin representative reminded that Apple had previously removed applications from domestic developers from the Russian segment of the App Store.
Peskov reported that the relevant agency intends to contact Apple for clarification. After receiving a response, the Russian side will make further decisions regarding interaction with the corporation, reports Izvestia.
In addition, the Kremlin representative noted that the removal of popular Russian services affects the interests of tens of millions of users both in Russia and abroad. At the same time, he emphasized that users still have alternatives, including devices based on Android.
It is worth recalling that it was previously reported that Apple removed a number of services from the VK group from the App Store without prior notice. Read more about this here.
