Rosobrnadzor: The scores of the Unified State Exam in private and state universities have nearly equalized.
The average score of the Unified State Exam (USE) for applicants to private and state universities in Russia has become almost identical. This was stated by the head of Rosobrnadzor, Anzor Muzaev, at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, as reported by RBC.
According to him, there is currently no significant difference in exam results between applicants to different types of universities. However, the situation within the institutions themselves is different.
Muzaev noted that the largest gap is observed between students who are admitted to budget-funded places and those who pay for their education. On average, the difference in subjects ranges from 36 to 42 points. In some universities, this figure can be even higher. The expert emphasized that this gap persists regardless of whether the university is state or private.
The admission campaign for universities and colleges in 2026 began on June 20. Earlier, the government reported that this year more than 620,000 budget places have been allocated in Russian universities.
