A monument to the participants of the Special Military Operation was unveiled in the village of Vostochny.
The idea belonged to a participant of the special military operation who died while on duty, and it was brought to life with the help of local residents and businesses. Hundreds of people gathered for the opening ceremony: representatives from administrations, business circles, veteran organizations, relatives of the defenders of the Fatherland, young army members, students of military-patriotic clubs, and residents of the area. The initiator of the monument's creation was special military operation participant Roman Chadov. After his death, the initiative was continued by the soldier's parents. They were supported by the residents of the village, the administrations of the Omutninsky district, and the village of Vostochny. In early 2025, Kirov sculptor Viktor Boriskin developed a sketch project that was approved by the initiative group. The monument features a 2.5-meter figure of a soldier in combat gear on a pedestal with the inscription: "There is such a profession - to defend the Motherland." The monument is installed on the territory of the Cultural and Sports Center of the village of Vostochny on Azina Street.
