The incident occurred today, June 16, on Mira Avenue opposite the bread factory. A strong gust of wind uprooted a large poplar, reported the administration of Kirov-Chepetsk. The tree fell towards the roadway, partially blocking traffic and damaging a parked Niva by the roadside. There were no injuries.
A crew from the contracting organization arrived at the scene. The poplar was cut up and removed from the road, and traffic was fully restored. The remnants of the wood will be removed later.
According to the contractor, the tree was not in a hazardous condition — the cause of the fall was strong gusts of wind.
The administration reminded that to avoid damage, it is not advisable to park vehicles under large trees, advertising structures, power lines, and near road signs.
