In Kirov, a patient was saved after three months in intensive care.
At the Kirov Regional Clinical Hospital, doctors were able to bring a patient out of critical condition after he spent about 100 days in intensive care. The man was admitted to the intensive care and resuscitation unit No. 3 in extremely serious condition. According to the head of the department, anesthesiologist-resuscitator Vladimir Litvinov, the patient was on artificial ventilation and suffered from acute kidney damage that developed against the background of a blood disease. For more than three months, medical staff monitored the patient's vital signs around the clock, supporting the function of the heart, respiratory system, and other organs. The man spent 91 days on the artificial ventilation machine. In addition to intensive therapy, the patient underwent renal replacement therapy and hemosorption. These treatment methods were used to restore kidney function and combat the severe condition of the body. As reported by the head of the nephrology department of the KOKB, Lyubov Mamaeva, the patient has now been removed from the ventilator, breathes independently, talks, communicates with relatives, and can move around. The hospital noted that such cases are considered some of the most complex in resuscitation and require prolonged work by a large team of specialists.
