By the summer season, 34 beaches and 48 recreational areas by the water will be prepared in the Kirov region.
Before the start of the swimming season, all 34 beaches must undergo inspection for compliance with sanitary requirements. Specialists will assess several key parameters:
the results of laboratory tests of water and sand — they must meet sanitary standards;
the presence of a production control program for the quality of water in the water body and sand on the beach;
the arrangement of the territory: beaches must have trash bins for waste collection, and the adjacent green area must undergo acaricidal treatment before the start of the season.
Each beach is required to have a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion for the use of the water body for recreational purposes. This document is issued in accordance with Federal Law No. 52-FZ of March 30, 1999, "On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being of the Population" and the Water Code of the Russian Federation (Article 50).
Operating a beach without such a conclusion entails administrative responsibility. The Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing urges owners of recreational areas on water bodies to timely equip beaches and obtain the necessary permits.
Currently, neither local government bodies, nor legal entities, nor individual entrepreneurs operating beaches have yet applied to the Service for obtaining a sanitary and epidemiological conclusion. Information about the readiness of recreational areas and the quality of water in bathing zones will be published on the official website of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing for the Kirov Region.
The Federal Service also reminds: swimming in unprepared places is dangerous for life and health. There is a high risk of injury as well as contracting infectious diseases.
